The Electro-Acoustic Music Centre (EMC) was built in 1990 as an important facility of the Department of Music, supporting the new B.A. in Music Course which includes a unique stream in Composition and Music Production. Currently, it continues to support both the B.A. and M.A. courses as well as M.Phil. and occasional staff research and production work.
With its double-wall design, near perfect studio acoustics and various levels of computer and audio technologies, this multiple-room facility is unique in Hong Kong and China, offering the best environment for training in Electro-Acoustic Music.
In the last few years, numerous staff and student works created in EMC were presented locally and internationally, in major festivals and conferences, as well as CD recordings. Occasional tours and lecture/demonstration sessions are also available.
