This is a "philosopher's" photo gallery in at least three senses. First and most trivially, I (the photographer) happen(s) to be a philosopher. Second, the photos included in the gallery can all be interpreted as having a "deeper" meaning of one sort or another, though in most cases I have made no attempt to specify that meaning. Third, many of the photos are (or will be) linked to quotations in my online collection, called A Philosopher's Insight Exhibit. These links provide clues as to one possible line of interpretation for both the photo and the quotation.
I took all the photographs displayed in this gallery with a Pentax 35mm through-the-lens reflex camera that dates back to the 1970s. Most were taken using the original lens, though for some I used a newer Sigma UC Skylite zoom lens (70-210mm). With one exception (a waterfall with five images), none of the photos made use of filters.
Like many of the pages on my web site, this photo gallery is organized according to a simple fourfold pattern. In this case, the pattern uses the traditional "four elements", with each photo being placed in the section corresponding to its main focus. A small version of each photo appears in the gallery; to view a photo on its own in a larger size, simply click on the photo.
waterIf you like photos of people, have a look at my family page. (Unfortunately, nearly all my "artistic" shots of other people are on slides, and I don't have the technology to put them on the web.) Alternatively, if you're in the mood for real art, visit my wife's Art Gallery. Enjoy!
